Folios 171-172: William Collis, HMS Dromedary, Longreach. Informs their Lordships Joseph Franklin entered voluntarily, saying at the time he was an apprentice but had received ill treatment from his Master who he was determined never to return to again. He has since questioned him. He persists, if he is discharged he will go to another ship in the Service so his Master cannot learn of his whereabouts. If their Lordships discharge him he will never go back to his Master. He returns the indenture as requested. [Indenture not present].
