Folios 473-474: William Edward Crarcraft, HMS Aquilon, Spithead. Reports that the Master of the Mary, and other persons concerned with her cargo were under examination at Portsmouth when he wrote on 2 May. He expects that the details have by now reached the Admiralty. It may not be possible to contradict the assertion of the Captain and the passenger who claims to be Dean, but Captain Cracraft has merely done his duty in bringing the vessel to Spithead under the directions issued by Sir Sidney Smith.
