Folios 433-434: George Countess, HMS Daedalus, Cape Coast Castle, Ghana. Reports that he has learnt that the ports Bonny, Old Calabar, [both Nigeria]and the River Camaronis, which Captain Sutton of HMS Martin is ordered to visit to inform the trade there of the convoy, are all exceedingly dangerous for those who are unfamiliar with the area. He therefore applied to the Governor for a pilot, but has been told it is not possible to get one. There is a possibility of finding someone familiar with this area of the coast either at Annimaboo, Accra, or Whydau [Ouidah, Benin]. Should Captain Sutton not find a pilot, he has been directed to proceed as best as he is able.
