Folios 395-396: John Cooke, HMS Quebec, Spithead. Reports that he captured L'Aspic on 10 March, a French National Cutter of 10 guns and 57 men, and brought her to Spithead. She had been 10 days from St Malo, and had captured the John, a sloop bound from Galway to Porto. The L'Aspic is only 2 years old, copper-bottomed, and he expects that it will be found to be a desirable vessel for the service.
