Folios 296-297: James Colnett, HMS Hussar, Plymouth. Reports that he was in Portsmouth on Saturday and did not think that Mr Williams could leave Spithead until Monday. He proceeded to Plymouth by land and arrived late last night. The ship's books were sent to London 3 days before the letter from the Admiralty Office reached the Commissioner at Plymouth and they have been sent without the necessary book from the Commissioner's office. The Commissioner has not forwarded the book, surmising that the ship's books would be immediately returned, but this has not yet happened. Captain Colnett has written tot he Navy Board and will immediately order other pay books to be made out, and whichever is ready first, the Commissioner will pay the company. HMS Hussar will be ready for sea as soon as the company is paid and will go into the Sound.
