Folios 155-156: John Cochet, HMS Rattler, Carlisle Bay, Barbados. Sends a report as there is a merchant vessel sailing for Liverpool in a few days time. Having sailed from Portsmouth on 26 August, as ordered, he could not clear the Channel until 29 August because of adverse weather conditions. Arrived at Carlisle Bay this morning and will proceed to comply with orders. He has been told by Governor Ricketts that Admirals Sir Hyde Parker and Blyth [Sir Richard Bligh] have both been in Barbados and have proceeded to Martinique, from where Admiral Bligh departed the day before yesterday.
