Folios 397-398: James Colnett, 17 Clements Inn. Report that the Hawke Schooner Galley requested by Marquis Cornwallis, was purchased in the river Thames and ordered to attend Captain Lewis Hay, Royal Engineers and himself to assist in the inspection of the Coast of Essex and Suffolk. The service being completed the Galley returned to Deptford but due to a leak was ordered into dock. Her commander is Mr Samuel Willson. [Details of the vessel - dimensions etc. and another called the Eagle, which both served as a privateers at Gluckstadt in the war between Sweden and Russia under Russian Colours, returned to England but cannot be registered as Merchant ships but he suggests they could both be purchased for Naval use].
