Folios 275-276: Francis Cole, HMS Eurydice, Plymouth Sound. Reports his proceeding to Penzance for the purpose of conveying 10 ships to the Downs only to find that the crew of the Lord Hood brig had landed from her off the Lands End in consequence of the ship being chased by a cutter, thought initially to be one of His Majesty's crusiers coming to impress them, but later thought to be an enemy. Further adds his concerns about untrue accusations about his conduct and his ship's activities.
Folios 277-278: Extract of a copy letter dated 4 September 1794 sent by Thomas Love, merchant in Penzance to William Webb, merchant in London which was sent to Captain Francis Cole, HMS Eurydice, Plymouth, in consequence of several ships having been captured off the Land's End. Concerning the lack of protection given to merchant ships off Land's End by H.M. ships and how this was not the case in previous wars.
