Folios 514-515: George Cockburn, HMS Phaeton, the Nore. Reports that Henry Garman, alias Henry Gifford, volunteered at the rendezvous and was sent out to his ship in Long Reach with a draft of 30 men. Gifford has received bounty money and an advance on his wages.
Folios 516-517: enclosed with folios 514-515. Petition from William Loseby, Currier, Spitalfields, to the Admiralty dated 18 August 1803. His apprentice Henry Jarman, alias Henry Gifford, eloped on 9 August and entered for the Navy aboard HMS Enterprise and is now aboard HMS Phaeton under the name of Gifford. Asks for his discharge.
