Folios 119-120: William Charleton, Regulating Captain, North Shields. Reports that William Laidler was impressed on 9 November 1803, as directed in the Admiralty letter four days earlier. Captain Charleton found his situation identical to the other Watermen.
Folios 121-122: enclosed with folios 119-120. Letter from Christopher Bainbridge, South Shields, to the Admiralty dated 12 November 1803. Encloses documents relating to the case of William Laidler, who was impressed last Thursday.
Folios 123-124: enclosed with folios 121-122. Letter from Christopher Bainbridge, South Shields, to the Admiralty dated 12 November 1803. William Laidler in about 45 years old and had been working in a brewery until a few months ago when he was engaged on one of the passage boats between Newcastle and Shields. He was impressed on 9 November and is on the tender Sunderland, which sailed this afternoon for the Nore. Laidler is in a poor state of health, but has a wife and, he believes, five children to support. Asks for his discharge.
