Folios 101-102: William Charleton, Regulating Captain, North Shields. Reports that Waterman George Brown was impressed on 9 November 1803, as he fell into the description of men he was ordered to press in the Admiralty letter of 5 November. When Joseph Bulmer applied to him for Brown's release because he was a member of the corps under Mr Bulmer's command, he referred him to the Admiralty
Folios 103-104: enclosed with folios 101-102. Letter from Joseph Bulmer, South Shields, to the Admiralty dated November 11, 1803. George Brown,, who is a private in the corps he commands, was impressed and is now aboard one of the Navy tenders. He would never take any man under his command who could be more use in the navy, but Brown is not a seaman, but rather earns his living on a passage boat on the River Tyne. Asks for his discharge.
