Folios 89-90: William Charleton, Regulating Captain, North Shields. He was asked whether Edward Morley should be exempt from impressment because he had contributed to the raising of a quota of Keelmen. Morley had not, when he was impressed on 8 September 1803, contributed towards this quota.
Folios 91-92: enclosed with folios 89-90. Letter from Thomas Richardson, Sunderland, to the Admiralty dated 18 Oct 1803. One of his Keelmen, Edward Morley, was impressed at Sunderland six weeks ago and is aboard HMS Zealand at the Nore. He has stood his ballot for the militia, and is one of the Keelmen willing to stand a ballot to raise one man in 10 to serve in the Navy. Asks for his discharge.
