Folios 79-80: William Charleton, Regulating Captain, North Shields. Reports that Shipwright James Wilkinson was impressed at Sunderland on 19 October 1803, as he had formerly been at sea. The other man mentioned in the Admiralty's letter, Davison Usher, he thinks is the man Davison Wishart who is mentioned in the petition from William Budle. He was impressed on 4 October and sent to the Nore as he was not one of the Keelmen whom Captain Charleton had been ordered to protect.
Folios 81-82: enclosed with folios 79-80. Undated etition from James Bruce of Southwick near Sunderland, shipbuilder, to the Admiralty. His second foreman, James Wilkinson was impressed out of his home at Sunderland and sent to HMS Zealand. He is an industrious and valuable servant. Asks for him to be discharged.
Folios 83-84: enclosed with folios 79-80. Undatedetition from William Budle of Sunderland, coal fitter, to the Admiralty. A few days ago Davidson Wishart, Keelman, was impressed and sent to HMS Zealand at the Nore. Wishart is Master of a keel boat and has been a Keelman for 20 year, but never been to sea. If they are liable to be impressed, Keelmen will give up their trade. Asks for him to be discharged.
