Folios 559-560: Charles Coote, Latona, Deptford. Requests that Samuel Manning, late Boatswain of HM Brig Star and presently on the Checque at Deptford, who is strongly recommended by Captain Manby of HMS Africaine, be appointed Boatswain of HMS Ranger. It is his wish to join HMS Ranger and also as he is already in Deptford it would save him money in having to join a ship in a different port.
