Folios 256-257: Alexander Cochrane, HMS Ajax, Downs. Refers to letter from Captain Taylor of HMS Magnanime informing him that W. Ramsay, who was removed at his request from the Ajax for improper conduct, has for the last two years improved his conduct. Now wishes to withdraw his comments and requests Admiralty removes his complaint from the records so that it does not hinder any chance of promotion for Mr Ramsay.
