Folios 247-248: Thomas Cochrane, Old Cavendish Street. As he had not seen Lieutenant Parker's name on the list of promotions to Commander felt necessary to write to the Admiralty. Reminds Admiralty that Lieutenant Parker served as sole Lieutenant on the Sloop Speedy when it captured the Spanish vessel, El Gamo which had considerably more guns and with a complement six times greater. He was severely injured when a sword passed through his thigh and a musket ball lodged in his neck. Believes, when reminded of these facts their Lordships will consider it appropriate to promote him to Commander.
