Folios 145-146: William Cayley, HMS Invincible, Yarmouth Roads. HMS Jalouse sailed last night with a convoy to the Baltic, HMS Cruiser arrived last night and the cutter HMS Trial this morning. Encloses [no longer present] a statement of their condition. HMS Squirrel and HMS Drake report they are ready for sea. He has told Lieutenant James Haldane Tait of HM Armed Lugger Jane to be ready to escort a transport from Peterborough bound for Lisbon as far as the Downs. Includes Lieutenant Tait's letter.
Folios 147-148: enclosed with folios 145-146. Letter dated 8 September 1800 by Lieutenant James Haldane Tait, HM Armed Lugger Jane, Yarmouth Roads to Captain William Cayley of HMS Invincible. Asks Captain Cayley to request the Admiralty to allow him to take the lugger to Chatham, for a refit and to collect the new sails which are waiting for her there.
