Folios 120-121: Messrs Clementson & Denton, [Navy Agents] Clements Inn, London. The Admiralty have said that they have not produced any new reasons why Commander James Carthew should be allowed to dispense with the papers necessary for passing his accounts for the fire ship HMS Rosario. Even if all of the papers had not been lost in the burning of the ship, he would not have had the requisite surveys of stores and provisions as the circumstances did not permit them to be taken. Hopes the Admiralty will agree to dispense with this requirement, so Commander Carthew can be paid.
