Folios 276-279: Thomas Briggs, HMS Leviathan, Malta. Encloses a copy of a letter he has sent John Dickson, Surgeon in the Royal Navy, currently residing in Tripoli as Surgeon to the Bey, notes the Bey wishes this to continue until further notice and has therefore extended John Dickson's leave of absence until further notice, has made further representations to the Bey concerning men held in captivity there.
Folio 277: enclosure with folios 276-279. Letter dated 25 August 1815 from Captain Thomas Briggs, HMS Leviathan, Tripoli to Mr John Dickson, Surgeon in the Royal Navy, residing in Tripoli. The Bey of Tripoli having represented the importance of a professional medical man being in the port and you are physician to his Highness and the British Consulate, you are authorised to continue until further notice on Leave of Absence from England.
