Folio 234: James John Gordon Bremer, HMS Lee, Cove of Cork. Encloses a near replica of a letter, from his own private memoranda, addressed to Sir Thomas B. Martin about widening the channels of his ship. He does not have an exact copy due to the neglect of his clerk, Mr. Syncock, subsequently discharged by Admiralty order, who did not create a copy in his letter book.
Folio 235: enclosed with folio 234. Letter dated 17 March 1815 by James John Gordon Bremer, HMS Lee to Sir Thomas B. Martin, Commander in Chief, Plymouth. Advises the masts appear not to have sufficient support from the rigging for their height and the channels appear to be narrow and weak. Asks for the channels to be widened.
