Folios 230-231: Edward Walpole Browne, 5 Thornton Row, Greenwich. Informs their Lordships that the passing certificate for William Allen of HMS Leda were lodged with the Admiralty on 15 February by his father along with a certificate of time served in HM ships Standard, Majestic and Leda. In recommendations for his promotion he is always spoken of most highly and his father is a very respectable man with a large family.
Folios 232-233: enclosure with folios 230-231. Letter dated 16 March 1915 by Edward Walpole Browne, 5 Thornton Row, Greenwich. Gives further details of William Allen's service in the East Indies from 13 October 1805- 22 March 1814.
