Folios 406-408: George Blamey, HMS Comet, Sheerness. He observes that HMS Comet was so defective that the decision was paid to pay her off. Consequently he has been in command of the ship since 1812 with only the crew sufficient for a sloop. He complains that this state of affairs is unsatisfactory and asks for a command elsewhere.
Folio 407: enclosure with folios 406-408. Letter dated 21 December 1814 by George Blamey, HMS Comet, Sheerness He writes to John Barrow at the Admiralty asking him to be sure to give his letter to the Commissioners of the Admiralty.
