Description

Folio 263: Richard Byron, 22 Arundel Street. He mentions a man named Jonathan Mordess who was impressed when Captain Byron was in command of HMS Belvidera. He was taken from the ship Burbey which was on her way from Bermuda to Antigua. He is now on board HMS Prince at Spithead. He has written to Captain Byron asking for his help in seeking a discharge. It appears he was the acting chief mate on Burbey when he was taken .
