Description

Folios 94-95: Walter Bathurst, HMS Fame, Chatham. He records that the Admiralty had informed the Treasury that he was entitled to be paid £90 remuneration against the costs he incurred transporting the Duchess d'Orleans from Mahon to Marseilles. He asks for the amount of the payment to be adjusted as the regulations stipulate £100 be paid when members of a royal family are involved. He sayes he was paid £100 when he carried Duke Francis and his suite from Sardinia to Sicily. He asks them to reconsider.
