Folios 403-405: Samuel Butcher, HMS Antelope, Lat 46. 53, Long 36.42. Reports that since leaving Baerhaven [Bar Haven], the ship has experienced adverse winds, heavy gales and thick weather. Advises that one brig, name unknown, went down in a heavy gale on 3 August 1814 with all on board perishing. A ship, the Roberts of Liverpool, Ralph Pearson, Master, sank on the morning of 7 August 1814 with all 27 persons saved. Advises that the circumstances along with the conduct of several Masters of Transports and 2 merchant vessels will be reported to the Admiralty at a future occasion. Reports that on 9 August 1814, HMS Newcastle captured the Ida, American Privateer of, and from, Boston with 20 guns all of which had been thrown overboard except for 4 during the chase, and had been 40 days out, having made 3 captures, two of which she had destroyed. Mentions he has spoken with HMS Cyane bound to England.
