Description

Folio 230: Henry Blackwood, HMS Warspite, Cawsand. David Smith has performed the duty of Provost Marshall in the Mediterranean so he asks that he is paid.

Folio 231: enclosed with folio 230. Letter dated 3 April 1811 by Thomas Freemantle, Rear Admiral of the Blue, Mahon, to David Smith, Provost Marshall. Admiral Charles Cotton orders David Smith to take Lieutenant James Seagrave of HMS Philomel into custody for the Court Martial.

Folio 232: enclosed with folio 230. Letter dated 1 April 1811 by Thomas Freemantle, Rear Admiral of the Blue, Mahon, to David Smith, Provost Marshall. Sir Charles Cotton orders David Smith to take William Aitkin, Acting Master of HMS Philomel, into custody before the Court martial for drunkenness.
