Folios 268-269: James Bissett, HMS Dannemark, Basque Roads. He is sending a copy of a letter received frm Captain Sir Michael Seymour by the English Privateer, stating that enemy frigates from Verdon Road had put to sea and statement of the position of enemy ships visible from Basque Roads, copies of which he has sent to Lord Keith, Commander in Chief and Commodore Sir Richard King. The Master of the Privateer had spoken to the Master of a Danish Dogger from Bordeaux bound for Liverpool, who said the enemy frigates had gone about 3 miles up the river.

Folio 270: enclosure with folios 268-269 dated 12 March 1812 from Captain Michael Seymour, HMS Niemen to Captain James Bissett, HMS Dannemark. When he joined with HMS Medusa he found the 2 enemy frigates had put to sea. He will proceed to 50 leagues from Cape Ortegal to obtain information and protect the trade. He will call off Brest for orders then put in to Corunna for water and provisions.
