Folios 526-529: Andrew Broun, Regulating Captain, Greenock. Edward Griffin is a stout 14 year old 3rd Class Boy. The petitioner had previously applied for his release to the Water Bailie's Court in Glasgow and the decision went against him. He has no right to offer the 2 boy substitutes as they had already entered with Lieutenant Smith at Glasgow and received one shilling impress money. The sailed in the Rosa tender to Plymouth yesterday.
Folios 527-528: enclosure with folios 526-529. Letter dated 27 October 1810 from Mathew Griffin, Glasgow to J W Croker, Secretary, Admiralty Office, London. Asks for confirmation of acceptance of 2 substitutes, Barr and Thomson, for his son Edward Griffin, a weakly boy volunteer currently on HMS Rosa tender.
