Folio 480: Richard Runwa Bowyer, Regulating Officer, Lynn. Regarding a Major Wardle who came forward as a substitiute on the 29 April in place of William Smith. Wardle, who received £12, is 30 years of age, served 7 years as a waterman and is a stout fine healthy fellow.
Folios 481-482: enclosure with folio 480. Undated letter by John Benet [?] of West Lynn asking for the release of Major Wardle, who left a wife and four children to join the Navy.
