Folios 475-476: Jaheel Brenton, HMS Spartan, off Melazza. Acknowledges thanks from the Admiralty and the Commander in Chief in taking the Island of Lussin and other operations. Recommends and highlights the actions of Lieutenant George W. Willis in these actions and asks he be rewarded like other officers have been for similar service.
Folios 477-470: enclosure with folios 475-476. Letter dated 16 September 1808 by Jaheel Brenton, HMS Spartan, off Toulon. Detailed account of operations from the 6 to 13 September, mentions Lieutenant George W Willis.
Folio 479: enclosure with folios 475-476. Letter dated 20 September 1808 by Cuthbert Collingwood to Captain Brenton, HMS Spartan. States his approbation for the actions of HMS Spartan and HMS Imperieuse in the several assaults made on the enemy coast, where two batteries were destroyed and small vessels burnt.
