Description

Folio 401: James Sykes, Arundel Street. Is sending Vice Admiral Berkeley's order dated 5 August 1809 directing Captain Christopher Bell receive, on board HMS Phipps, then at Lisbon, Lord Fitzroy Somerset with despatches for England. Captain Bell asks for remuneration for the expenses incurred.

Folio 402: enclosure with folio 401. List of Officers transported asking for remuneration of £150 for each. Lord William Bentinck to Lisbon on HMS Port Mahon, Captain [John] Lawson, Major General Cole to Lisbon, HMS Argus, Captain Steven, General Erskine from Lisbon to Portsmouith, HMS nonpareil, Lieutenant Dickinson, Major General Frazer to Gibraltar, HMS Nereus, Captain [Peter] Heywood and General Campbell from Lisbon to England, HMS Argus, Captain Stewart.
