Folios 389-391: George Byng, HMS Belliquex, Bombay Harbour. HMS Cornelia arrived with Commissioner Dundas, who has begun to act in this capacity. The expedition intended for the occupation of the Rodrigues Island, will sail on the 25th June 1809 under the protection of HMS Cornelia. At about the same date the expedition will leave for the Persian Gulf, against the Joasmee pirates, under the orders of Captain [John] Wainwright, HMS Chiffone, with HMS Caroline and a number of the Honourable Company's cruisers and gun boats. HMS Cornwallis is in the Gulf for the protection of the trade and will return with a convoy later this month. HMS Belliquex has been freshly coppered and he is ordered to take the China ships from this port to China, but they have not yet arrived. HMS Caroline came out of dock and HMS Ceylon is now in dock. The last news he had of the rest of the squadron was on 29th May 1809 when they were about to leave Madras to sail to Trincomalee.
