Folios 358-359: Rowland Bevan, 23. Surrey Street, the Strand. Asks to be considered for a pension after being invalided out of HMS Garland. Whilst on this ship and chasing a French privateer off the north of St. Domingo on 17th January 1809, in execution of his duty fell from the Quarter deck and injured his left leg, which Surgeons say he will never regain the use of. Also, whilst on HMS Brunswick in Earl Howes action with the French fleet on 7th June 1794, he received wounds to both his legs, broke an arm and had a musket ball in his side and his eye injured.
