Folio 347: George Barker, Regulating Captain, Bristol. Is sending a letter from Sir Charles Morgan concerning John Jones, belonging to the West Monmouth local militia under his command. This man was impressed from a coasting sloop on 20 November 1809 by Lieutenant Williams, he is an Ordinary Seaman, aged 29 and had no document to prove he belonged to the militia.
Folio 348: enclosure with folio 347. Letter dated 23 November 1809 by Sir Charles Morgan, Tredegar, Newport, Monmouthshire to Regulating Captain at Bristol. Has been informed that John Jones, a Private in the West Monmouth local militia, and lately employed in the Caslen Market Boat Cooperative, has been impressed. Asks for him to be released.
