Folios 230-231: Edward Brace, HMS Virginie, Falmouth. Reports that he has received instructions from Sir Roger Curtis to discharge William Johnson, Midshipman. He advises that William Johnson is under arrest for having been absent for 3 days without leave from HMS Virginie at Spithead. He feels he has been led astray by Mr and Mrs Phillips. He further advises that William Johnson has been under guardianship of one of his relatives and feels that discipline is needed to bring him back into line and requests approval to allow suchg correction.
