Folios 237-238: Joseph Bingham, HMS Sceptre; Joshua Rowley Watson, HMS Alford; Norborn Thompson, HMS Perlen; Philip Somerville, HMS Rota; Charles Pelly, HMS Bucephalus; Chatham. The Captains of ships fitting and refitting at Chatham wish to register a grievance which has existed for some time. When a Court Martial is ordered at Sheerness; the Post Captains whose ships are at Chatham and Long Reach are directed to attend, and a tender is sent to transport them. It is often the case that they are detained for several days there on public service, and at great expense. Request that some allowance is made to defray the extra expense in this situation where they are some distance from their ships, on public service, which does not occur at any other port
