Folio 516: Philip Browne, HMS Plover, Plymouth. Regarding the appointing Lieutenant George Wilkinson and Lieutenant John Hyde to replace Lieutenant William Fowell and David Williams. Encloses a letter from Lieutenant William Fowell which requests he be appointed to a Prison Ship due to his health.
Folio 517: enclosure with folio 516. Letter dated 20 April 1808 by Lieutenant William Fowell, HMS Plover, Plymouth Sound, to Philip Browne. Today received a letter of appointment to the Impress Service but due to state of health does not feel able to accept and requests to be appointed to a Prison Ship.
