Folio 445: John Burn, HMS Albacore, off Portland. Encloses a copy of intelligence obtained from Joshua Hazard, Master, USS Fair American, who sailed from Antwerp on 5 December and from Flushing 2 days ago to New Orleans.
Folio 446: enclosure with folio 445. Copy of information obtained from Joshua Hazard, Master, USS Fair American dated 29 January 1807 by Captain John Burn. Reports there are 8, 74 gun ships under construction at Antwerp, 2 of which will be launched within a month. 2,000 Artificers are employed in the dockyard. At Flushing, a large French frigate and brig are ready for sea, the frigate recently launched at Antwerp and since coppered and fitted out at Flushing. There is a Dutch frigate being fitted out. On leaving Flushing on 27 January there was no official account of any action having taken place between the French and Russian armies and Bonaparte had left his army to return to Paris.
