Folios 423-424: Sir John Poo Beresford, HMS Cambrian, Portsmouth. Encloses a copy of the Acting gunner's warrant amd certificates showing Mr. Smith's services in hope it will lead to his being confirmed in the Cambrian. Also asks if J. Macdonald and J. Storey can be retained on board the Royal william for him.
Folios 424-426: enclosures with folio 423. Thomas Smith, no date or address. States that he could not deliver a letter he had for Sir Thomas Trowbridge from Captain Cashman as Sir Thomas had sailed.
