Folios 444-448: George Byng, HMS Belliqueux, Table Bay, Cape of Good Hope. Encloses a copy of an order from Commodore Sir Home Popham appointing John Craske as acting Lieutenant in HMS Belliqueux to replace Lieutenant [Clotworthy] Gillmor because of ill health. Mr Craske has served with Captain Byng for two years and proved to be diligent, sober and attentive to his duty. Asks for the appointment to be confirmed.
Folios 445-446: enclosed with folios 444-448. Order dated 27 January 1806 by of an order from Sir Home Popham, Commander in Chief at the Cape of Good Hope, aboard HMS Diadem appointing John Craske as acting Lieutenant in HMS Belliqueux as Lieutenant Gillmor has been invalided. The appointment is at the pleasure of Rear Admiral Sir Edward Pellew.
