Folio 442: George Byng, HMS Belliqueux, Table Bay. Encloses a certificate for John Craske, who today passed his examination [for Lieutenant].
Folio 443: enclosed with folio 442. Captains Ross Donnelly of HMS Narcissus, George Hardinge of HMS [Saldanha ?] and William King, HMS Diadem, HMS Belliqueux, Table Bay, Capte of Good Hope, 26 January 1806. As directed by Commodore Sir Home Popham, have examined John Craske and find he is 20 years old, has six years of service in HMS Ann, HMS Autumn, HMS Texel, HMS Malabar and HMS Belliqueux and is competent in seamanship and navigation.
