Folio 214-215: Robert Barrie, HMS Pomone, Spithead. Reports departing company with HMS Plantagenet on 1 December 1806 during a gale. The ships mast was damaged possibly by a lightning strike. Made course for Torbay but driven further eastwards and had to bear up for anchor and unable to join Captain Bradley and HMS Plantagenet. During the night of the 1st, James Silcock, a boy, was washed overboard and drowned.
