Folios 120-121: George Barker, Regulating Captain, Bristol. Reports the case of Richard Bayley, impressed on 24 March, and states he is the master of the Mayflower, a sloop rigged vessel between 40 and 50 tons. Barker does not believe this man is the real master but appears as such for the sake of Protection as her tonage does not protect a mate. He is detaining him for service.
