Incorporated by act of 7th August 1854.

Under London & South Western Railway Company's Act of 4th July 1878, their act of 1858 was made applicable to sale or transfer of Salisbury & Yeovil Railway Company to them under powers conferred by their Acts of 1865 and 1876. Purchase was completed in August 1878. London & South Western Railway Company became part of Southern Railway Company as from 1st January 1923 under Railways (Southern Group) Amalgamation Scheme 1922 dated 22nd December 1922.
