Folios 403-405: Robert Barrie, Oban. He thought that by unshipping the Aurora's cargo he was preserving it from embezzlement and damage by the weather. The enclosed arressment of the Court of Admiralty of Scotland requires his reply within 10 days of the 6 [March 1805]. He cannot obtain instructions within the time limit and is ignorant of Scottish law so is sending a copy of the assessment and a narrative of the circumstances in which he took charge of the Aurora to Admiral Vashon asking for him to reply to the Court of Scotland. He was served with the arrestment at Lock Don while overseeing the shipping of part of the Aurora's cargo . The weather has prevented him going to Lough Craignaish to HMS Brilliant.
