Folio 145: George Barker, Regulating Officer, Bristol. Richard Gem, aged 20, was entered as a Landsman in July and is aboard the Amy tender bound for Plymouth.
Folio 146: enclosed with folio 145. Certificate dated 25 July 1804 by Constables of Worcester for the apprehending of Richard Gem who has absconded from his apprenticeship to Benjamin Hudson, Glover.
Folios 147-149: enclosed with folio 145. Letter dated 29 July 1804 Benjamin Hudson, Glovemanufacturer, Worcester to William Marsden, Admiralty. His apprentice Richard Gem has absconded and enlisted in the navy. Captain George Barker will not release him without an order from the Admiralty.
