Folio 141: George Barker, Regulating Officer, Bristol. He says that William Mayne was pressed at Swansea and is aboard the Amy tender on route to Plymouth.
Folio 142: enclosed with folio 141.Letter dated 22 July 1804 by Lieutenant Colonel James Halsey, St. Ives, Cornwall. He writes in support of the petition sent by the friends of William Mayne. He says that they are men of respect. He says that he believes the allegations made against Captain Tremaine.
Folios 143-144: enclosed with folio 141. Petition dated July 1804 by William Mayne, Mate, the Henry of Hoyle. He says that he is the proper Mate of his ship. He says that he was pressed at the instigation of Captain Thomas Tremaine of the Brothers of St. Ives. He says that this was an act of revenge as he and a shipmate had successfully sued Captain Tremaine for the payment of their wages for a previous voyage and which he had attempted to cheat them from receiving.
