Folio 239: Charles Adam, HMS Impregnable, off Cherbourg. Asks for the R to be removed from William Ankers, who belonged to HMS Invincible, under his command, was turned over to HMS Salvador del Mundo, was granted leave of absence, but then fell ill when in London and overstayed his leave. Folios 240-241: enclosure with folio 239: Letter dated 6 June 1814 by Wiliam Ankers, HMS Salvador [del Mundo], to Captain Charles Adam. He has rejoined HMS Salvador del Mundo and has orders from Captain Hall to assist his Clerk. Captain Hall will be writing to the Admiralty to ask for his R to be removed. Asks for Captain Adams to do likewise, taking into consideration his service on HMS Invincible, he continues to wear the jacket and trousers supplied to him by Lieutenant Corbyn, Mr. Thomas and Mr. Brasselay, and he had no intention of deserting. He wrote to Mr. Middleton and Mr. Shrewsbury asking them to take care of his clothes and bedding.
