Folio 376: Francis William Austen, HMS Elephant, the Great Bolt. He encloses a letter from Thomas Lepard, Acting Second Master of HMS Elephant.
Folio 377: enclosed in folio 376. Letter dated 25 June 1813 by Thomas Lepard, Acting Second Master, HMS Elephant to the Admiralty He asks to be considered for appointment as a Lieutenant and asks for dispensation to be given for the papers lost in the Brig Conflict.
Folio 378: enclosed in folio 376. Letter dated 25 June 1813 by Francis William Austen, HMS Elephant at sea. He provides a reference for Thomas Lepard who is asking for an appointment as a Lieutenant.
Folio 379: enclosed in folio 376. Oath sworn 22 February 1813 by Thomas Lepard, Acting Second Mate, HMS Elephant. He affirms that his logs and certificates of service were lost in the Brig HMS Conflict on 9 November 1810.
