Folio 246: James Alms, HMS Repulse, Torbay. He acknowledges receipt of orders addressed to Admiral Sir Alan Gardner, or the senior officer at Torbay. He has consequently ordered Captain Kelly to Plymouth and orderd him to give the Admiralty the draft of his ship.
He reports strong winds and a swell so heavy that the ships cannot get their anchors to hold and so it is impossible to sail at present. As soon as the weather improves he will go to sea.
